The population of the service area is estimated at over 40,000 people living in 55 communities spread out over an area of 800 square miles. As a volunteer-based nonprofit, AVODEC provides expertise and training in three critical areas:
- The construction of homes for families who are without;
- Improved healthcare in the form of potable water, family gardens, latrine construction, and immunization; and
- Agriculture and native seed projects.
